February Break Youth Basketball Open Gym

Feather River Recreation & Park District will be offering special youth basketball open gym sessions during February Break 2025!
Open gym is an opportunity for youth to practice their basketball skills, shoot hoops with their friends, and stay active. Bring your own basketball and water bottle.
There will be 2 age-group sessions offered daily: one for ages 4-8 only and one for ages 9-17.
To provide a safe environment, there will be a maximum of 30 participants in the gym at a time. No organized groups or teams allowed during open gym.
Location: Oroville Convention Center Gym (1200 Myers Street, Oroville)
Ages: 4 - 8 years old and 9 - 17 years old. Parent/guardian must pre-register and sign waiver online, or sign in-person waiver prior to child participation. For Littles (ages 4-8), parent/guardian must accompany child.
Fee: $2/participant per open gym session - pay ahead of time online or in person. (Must pay in cash and have exact change if paying in person.)

Open Gym Rules and Guidelines:
- No organized groups or organized team practice allowed during open gym.
- All participants must sign in.
- Parent/guardian must pre-register and sign waiver online, or parent/guardian must sign in-person waiver prior to child participation.
- Youth open gym is for the youth! This is a space for kids to play, not adults. Adults are permitted to supervise their youth participants. All spectators must behave in a positive manner and follow all rules and guidelines. Only for Littles (ages 4-8) open gym, parents are permitted on the court with their child.
- No food or drink allowed in the gym, only water bottles. Water fountains are available in the gym.
- Open gym may not be appropriate for all children and require parental supervision.
- You must wear proper attire at all times. This includes shirts and athletic shoes with non-marking soles.
- If an accident or injury occurs, please notify a staff member immediately. Please report all unsafe conditions.
- No dunking or hanging on basketball net or rim.
- Basketball pick-up games run half court only.
- No one is allowed on the stage, including behind/in the curtains.
- Balls may not be kicked or hit against walls or ceilings.
- No bikes, skateboards, roller skates, etc.
- Staff is not responsible for lost or stolen property.
- Zero Tolerance: NO profanity, fighting, spitting, gambling, horseplay, or destruction of property. Any instances may result in discipline. This can include, but is not limited to: excusing participant from premise, suspending future open gym privileges, notifying parents/guardians or reporting to the authorities. Please report any instances to a staff member.
